Meet Sarah

My name is Sarah Wentzell. I love photography! I admire a great picture! From the day I can remember, I always loved taking pictures. I get that passion from my grandfather. My love for taking photos led to scrapbooking all photos I would take, which then lead to more serious photography for friends and family. I went out and bought a great camera, took some course’s at Henry’s to learn how to use it properly, and went on my way. It has been almost 3 years of taking pictures for families, engagements, proms, grad, and of course weddings! I am loving every minute of it and I think my work shows my passion! I am extremely excited about how far my business has come, and look forward to a wonderful future of photography.

Photography is a part time side job for me, as I do work full time as an Insurance Broker with Macdonald Chisholm Trask Insurance. By day, I'm in the office, by evening I am either shooting a session, or editing the photos :)

I just recently opened a small photo studio in my home, capturing moments for newborns, toddlers etc. Although my space is small, please contact me about any ideas you would like to have done, I do love a great challenge and would love to work with you!

Please contact me if you are interested in allowing me to capture some great memories for you!
Q1. What kind of gear do you use?
  • Camera body - 2 X Canon 5D Mark III
  • Lens - Several different ones
Q2. What kind of tools do you use for post processing? Explain your work flow. I shoot all my images in RAW. From there I go through each photo with Photoshop. Photoshop allows me to process photo from RAW to JPG, as well as edit and adjust anything I may feel I need to adjust.
Q3. How do you educate yourself to take better pictures? I do a lot of research. Internet is a wonderful thing. Henry's is also wonderful, I have taken several courses through their education program at the local store in Halifax.
Q4. Among your works, which one is your favorite? Why? I have been really really enjoying doing weddings. But honestly, I love each and every session that I do.
